Make them pay.
By Charles Sullivan
11/16/05 "ICH
" -- -- So scandalous has become the White House during
the second term of the Bush regime that one can almost feel sorry
for poor Scott McClellan. The president’s press secretary has to go
out on a daily basis and tell bald faced lies to an increasingly
skeptical press corps. Bear in mind that the press corps has been
nothing but friendly and compliant with the Bush agenda of total
corporate control and the privatization of everything. This makes
them complicit in the nightmare that has become the New World Order.
It must be an odious task when no one in the room believes that you
have any credibility left and you are told to tell even more lies.
The treasure trove of lies (they are not failures of intelligence;
they are failures of moral tests) that Bush and his neocon minions
mistook for political capital were mere smoke and mirrors. They were
nothing more than the ghosts that haunt the sickly minds of Karl
Rove and the always macabre Dick Cheney. Now Scott McClellan, always
the huckster for his bosses, is left to carry on the charade before
a disbelieving audience that has always given him the premise of his
mendacity. But as ridiculous and defeated as McClellan looks these
days, I do not feel an ounce of compassion or sorrow for him. I do
not even feel embarrassed for him. I can only hope that he gets what
he deserves—like the rest of the murderers in this corrupt, morally
degenerate group of miscreants. I wouldn’t give a plug nickel for
the whole lot of them who promised to ‘restore integrity to the
White House.’
I thought that McClellan’s predecessor Ari Fleisher was bad: and he
was. In fact, Fleisher was horrible. But just when you think that
the Bush gang couldn’t possibly sink any lower, they never fail to
astound by sinking to new depths of depravity. Scott McClellan is
the front man for a cadre of corrupt, power hungry corporatists
whose sole purpose is to serve those in power. McClellan’s job
necessitates a treasonous disregard for the welfare of the people,
both domestic and abroad. The post requires a callous disregard for
human dignity as well as the well being of the planet. Most telling
of all, however, is that McClellan’s job requires utter contempt for
truth and for life.
When people lie it not only displays contempt for the listeners—it
is downright dangerous. Many thousands of innocent human beings died
because of the lies routinely espoused by Ari Fleisher and Scott
McClellan. Soulless ghouls who can go before the world as did Colin
Powell before the United Nations in the prelude to the Invasion of
Iraq are the worst kind of human beings. Adolph Hitler had nothing
on them. If possible, Dick Chaney, Condi Rice, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul
Wolfowitz and Richard Perle are even worse specimens of humanity.
The mendacity of these cowardly, immoral, chicken hawk
neoconservatives is truly repulsive.
But as always, the neocons have overplayed their hand. Lies and
deceptions are not political capital; nor are they political
mandates for an agenda of global hegemony and world domination. Even
the corporate owned and operated press corps is having a hard time
keeping a straight face in the waning days of the Bush regime.
McClellan’s Vaudeville act is no longer entertaining. It is killing
and it is maiming. Truth, no matter how carefully hidden, has a way
of revealing itself. Sometimes it isn’t pretty.
A regime built upon lies cannot long stand. We can hear the death
rattle beginning to rise in the bloated throat of the Bush regime as
it chokes upon its own offal. The question is how long will the
people accept mendacity and moral decay and call it truth? Will the
perpetrators of these crimes against nature and humanity be held
accountable? Will they be forced to bear the fruits of their own
labors?
In 1955 White Supremacists in the Deep South beat a thirteen year
old black boy named Emmett Till to death for whistling at a white
woman. It was widely assumed that there would be no public viewing
of Till’s broken and battered body. Not so. Emmett Till’s mother not
only had a public viewing of her son’s body—she let the world see
exactly what the hatred and malice of Till’s murderers did to her
son. Till’s body was seen exactly as his killers had left it. Emmett
Till’s head was swollen to many times its normal size; his eyes were
knocked out of his eye sockets and hung down his broken cheeks.
Virtually all of his teeth had been knocked out. Emmett Till’s
entire body, from head to toe had been brutalized almost beyond
recognition. The world was justifiably shocked to see what those
faceless racist cowards had done to him. It was a gruesome sight to
behold. But Mrs. Till forced the world to return the vacuous stare
of racism and the horrors it wrought. The world was rightly repulsed
by what it saw. Emit Till’s murderers were acquitted by an all white
jury—an injustice that was repeated many times over in The Deep
South.
What those White Supremacists did to Emit Till the Bush regime is
doing to the world. It is an ugly and gruesome sight, sickening to
behold. One wonders if they too will be acquitted, like Emmett
Till’s killers. Or will we force ourselves to look upon the carnage
they have wrought with horror and disgust; and bring them to
justice? There should be no way out for the perpetrators of such
heinous crimes against nature and humanity. Make them pay.
