troops kill two Palestinian children and 65 year old woman
Jerusalem: 21 May, 2003 (IAP News) Israeli occupation troops on
Wednesday shot and killed a 17 year old Palestinian boy and a child at
the village of Qarawat Bani Zeid, north of Ramallah, eyewitnesses
said. In addition, Israeli troops shot to death a 65-year-old woman
and wounded five others.
The names of the victims were not available at the time of this report
Palestinian sources said Israeli soldiers manning an armored personnel
carrier (APC) opened fire on a group of youngsters and children at the
entrance of the village, killing the child and the boy.
A third child reportedly was injured.
An Israeli army spokesman said the soldiers opened fire when one of
the children threw a stone toward the APC.
In Bethlehem to the south, Israeli soldiers guarding a watchtower
opened fire on children, injuring one of them.
Medical sources said the child was in serious to critical condition.
