Israeli
occupation troops murders Palestinian, destroy homes
Hebron (West Bank): 16 September, 2003 (IAP News)
Israeli occupation troops on Tuesday shot and killed a Palestinian
activist in the southern West Bank town of Dura, 10 kilometers south of
Hebron.
Eyewitnesses said Israeli troops backed by two tanks and a helicopter
gunship shelled a home in the town killing a 25-year-old Majed Abu Doash.
" I saw the soldiers kill Majed, they could have arrested him very
easily, he was unarmed. It was a cold-blooded murder," said Iman
Amr, who lives a bout a hundred meters away.
"It is a murder, there is no other name for what happened."
An Israeli army spokesman said the man was a "senior Jihad
activist."
The occupation army later brought a huge bulldozer which destroyed the
three-story homes where five families were living.
The soldiers didn't allow the families to take out their furniture or
belongings.
"They destroyed our life, May God destroy them all," cried
Fatma Nassar, looking distraught seeing her home reduced to rubble.
The incident came just hours after occupation forces in the West Bank
arrested nine members of Hamas and Fatah. One of those arrested in the
overnight raids was a teenager from Nablus.
The Israeli army routinely demolishes the family homes of Palestinian
activists.
The practice of house demolitions, considered a war crime under
international law, has been stepped up lately with the Israeli army
resorting to dynamiting high-rising multi-story buildings in Palestinian
towns.
In the last two weeks, the Zionist army destroyed several such
buildings, condemning more than 30 families (150 men, women and
children) to homelessness. On Wednesday September 10th, zionist troops
demolished a multi-storey apartment-building in Hebron, dooming 28
innocent Palestinian families to homelessness, and on the next day,
September 11th, army bulldozers demolished as many as 15 homes at the
Yibna refugee camp in Rafah at the southern edge of the Gaza Strip,
demolished the family home of Abdullah al Kawasmi, a Hamas resistance
fighter assassinated by Israel nearly three months ago, and on the same
day destroyed a two-story family home in Ramallah.
Also on September 11th, in Tulkarm to the north, Israeli occupation
forces stormed a hospital, terrorizing staff and patients, and seizing
documents and computers, Palestinian sources said.
