The politics of corruption

11/19/04 "ICH" -- The United States House of Representatives has turned into an aberrant imitation of what America’s founding fathers had envisioned for it to be. The House was in theory, supposed to be the “people’s” House. Every member must stand for election every two years. That was the fine design for holding politicians accountable. If we the people didn’t find our Representatives to be what they had professed to be, we the people could remove them from office and correct any errors in judgment that had been previously made. So much for the fine design of our founding fathers.
The Republican majority in the House has just changed the rules of procedure that govern the members actions and behaviors. The Republicans will no longer be held accountable for any possible illegalities or criminal behavior. The Republicans are above the law and simple human decency. The Republicans are the Party of God. The Republicans are the American version of the Taliban. God bless their criminal little heads.
Tom Delay is the majority leader for the Republicans in the House. Delay is from Texas and is under investigation for fraud and possible bribery charges in connection with some rather dubious solicitation work under the guise of “charitable contributions”. Delay was playing fast and loose with other peoples money and then trying to make the playing appear as if it was something it was not. In the House, Delay is known as the ‘hammer’. Right. Delay may very well be a lot of things but, I would doubt seriously that he is a ‘hammer’. Delay is a bug exterminator that made it big and then he took his extermination business on the road to political fame and glory. Delay is just the cutest little scamp. Kind of like how rats are cute. One really wouldn’t want one for a pet.
Delay knew that his butt was in a sling and the previous House rules that governed the Republicans, would have precluded him from being majority leader if he came under indictment. The House Republicans simply changed their rules of procedure and put themselves above the rules. Now if Delay comes under an indictment, his position as majority leader of the House will not be compromised in the least. Their old rules would have meant that Delay would have had to resign as majority leader.
Tom Delay is for all intents and purposes, the most powerful man in the United States House of Representatives. Not even Dennis Hastert who is the Speaker of the House, has the kind of pull that Delay has. Every piece of legislation, every House item of business, all House Committee appointments, and anyone that would meet with influential members of the House must go through Tom Delay the hammer. Never in the wildest dreams of your everyday and ambitious Texas exterminator, did Delay dream of having control of American government. Control of American government is indeed what Delay has.
Delay is your ‘hands on’ kind of exterminator. Delay likes the influence that he peddles. Peddle his influence he does with a vengeance. Tom Delay is a self proclaimed supporter of Israel. Delay likes to go to Israel on the American taxpayer tab and deliver speeches to the Israeli Knesset. The Israeli Knesset is absolutely thrilled to have Tom Delay in their three piece suit vest pocket. Delay enables Israel to receive inordinate amounts of American taxpayer dollars. If Israel didn’t have their bestest buddy in the whole wide world in Tom Delay, Israel would be financially ass-out. I am not faulting the Israelis here, Delay sought Israel out and Israel willingly obliges Delay when he feels the need for a little pontification. Pontification is money and Delay is about big pontification and Israel is about happy to receive that American taxpayer money. Compliments of Tom Delay the hammer.
Tom Delay prides himself on being “the influence” in Congress. Delay bills himself that way. Corporations and special interest lobbies know full well that if they have any desire to get their concerns heard in the halls of our Congress, they will go through Tom Delay the hammer. Tom Delay has his grimy bug killing mitts on the testicles of corporate America’s wallets. Big American corporations and special interest groups have wallets with big testicles and vast wads of cash stuffed inside these big-balls wallets. That is not a criticism, it is an admission of wonder at how American corporations and special interest groups will throw their money away on the likes of Tom Delay the hammer.
Tom Delay has never been overly concerned with regular American people. The ordinary American people don’t have the kind of money that Delay is interested in. Tom Delay has never been overly concerned with people in general. Regular people are about accountability and Tom Delay the hammer is above accountability. Just ask the Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Tom Delay the hammer is getting hammered by a Texas District Attorney that has sworn an oath of office to uphold, preserve, and defend the Constitution of America and Texas. The Texas District Attorney believes that laws are meant to be obeyed and disobedience to the aforementioned laws, will get you on the receiving end of a Texas District Attorney’s indictment for fraud and solicitation. Delay the hammer had set up some charitable organizations that were soliciting money and in fact this money that had been solicited was being used for Delay’s purposes and not charity. Isn’t that just the oddest thing. Delay gets hammered for fraud and illegal solicitation of money for a charity that in reality, is simply a front for Delay to hammer out a little tax-free cash and he uses that cash on himself. Now Delay the hammer is pissed that he is being called to account. Congress is so pissed that Delay their hammer is under investigation, they change their rules of order to protect their sweet little cash hammer Delay. All of the Republicans in the U.S. House benefit from Tom Delay the hammer and his shifty schemes to exterminate the U.S. Constitution and keep their criminal selves from being held to account for base criminality. Corruption is corruption and you can’t take it to church and make this corruption into something holy. Even if Tom Delay the hammer is Israel’s bestest buddy in the whole wide world.
We have arrived at the bottom line. Hypocrisy is the true name of the beast that is the Republican Party in the House of Representatives. The Republican conversion to the ‘Party of God and the American Taliban’, was a slow and evolutionary process. Their conversion was an actual conspiracy by deluded and heretical pseudo-Christian activists. The extreme right-wing Christian morals and values gang has taken control of the Republican Party and now is in the very real process of making America anew in their own image. The theology of this gang of Christian subversives is rooted in a little mentioned doctrine known as ’dominionism’. According to them and speaking through one of their front men, one Pat Robertson, it is God’s will that America be remade in the image of their Christ. God commands that Americans will either convert to their ’Christianity’ or they will be burned at the stake. Don’t take my word on this, read the material as it has been presented by Robertson and LaHaye and Falwell and the twin reverends Schenk. They are the source of the U.S. Constitution being dead idea. They are the source of the “activist judges” diatribe that is thrown at any judge that would rule against their madness. They are the source of the ’support Israel at whatever the cost’ idea. They have real plans for you and America and God is lending His divine hand to make this happen. Again, don’t take my word go read their material. The end of the world is coming and God wants America and American Christian people to dominate the world. They are the source of the “kill Muslims” protocol that has been put into practice by George Bush. Tom Delay is a self professed “God fearing Christian man” so, corruption, murder, fraud, bribery, war crimes, torture, and the list is almost endless, are perfectly expedient practices. The Christian means justifies their corrupt ends. The Republican Party of God is above regular law, they are doing God’s work. That work is the very real theft of elections, a real genocide being waged on Iraq, killing Palestinians, a devastating national debt, and putting Tom Delay the hammer above rules of procedure so as to keep him in control of the House.
