'Kill everyone and everything'
By Don Barletta
12/09/04 "ICH" -- Where do I begin? Daily I scan hundreds and hundreds of headlines from around the world. What do I see? Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush. The news is a Bush-fest! What's a concerned American to do? Where do I start?
I mean honestly, it seems to me that Bush and his cronies are killing, at least figuratively, someone or something new. Continually. It's all I can do to keep up with it.
Kill the truth. Kill our freedoms. Kill the environment. Kill journalism. Kill fair elections. Kill the economy. Just kill everything.
But please make sure that while you're killing everything, President Bush, you or your buddies should make massive amounts of money, or advance your agendas, or gain more and more power and control.
On the home front, you are aligning domestic forces, so we can just become a one-world order, or at least a one-country order. Kill democracy. Kill the Republic. [a]
Remember WMD's in Iraq? We all know that you and all your buddies; Rumsfield, Chaney, Rice, et al, did not quite tell the truth about that. The reality of the Iraq WMD issue has been widely reported. Kill truth. Anyone with half a brain should not believe much of anything you and your pals say. [b]
You've not been forthright about so many issues, that you kill one value after another. Reading the news, we see you killing the tenants of the Geneva Convention. Trampling all over that document. Doing what you want. Just read of the current US POW camps in Cuba, Iraq, and elsewhere. [c]
More recent news is the new reform of your intelligence services to march lock-step in support of you. There goes our "intelligence" industry. You're killing that one too. [d]
And how about the US dollar? It's dropping to record lows against currencies all over the world. Read all about it. The future headline reads, "Bush Kills The Dollar". [e]
And while we're on the subject of finance, we might mention how you kill our financial freedom through taxation. In all fairness, that’s been going on a lot longer than you’ve been running things. But now using your modus operandi of simply not answering questions and the thousands of inquiries our government has received in the last few years on this issue; you continue to tax us. Kill our financial freedom. [f]
And how about the national debt? You're breaking records there! A new all-time high. Way to go Bush. Bury us in debt. [g]
And let's not forget the Bill of Rights. I guess they're not "rights" any more. Just one example of many assaults on our freedom is your Patriot Act. And our privacy – what privacy? Go ahead Bush, kill our freedoms. You're doing a great job. [h]
And what's with your wanting to do psychological screening of all children in America? I don't know yet who or what you'll kill with that program - but I'm sure it will have some victims! [i]
While we're at it, let's remember your War on Drugs. Granted, America's been fighting that war for a long time, long before you defrauded America and stole your way into office in 2000, and probably 2004 as well. But you're still fighting the drug war none the less. And what a successful war it is!
Did you read the recent news article about one of your victims? It is the story of a 25 year old in Utah who was sentenced to 54 years in federal prison without parole for selling what I recall was two eight-ounce bags of marijuana to undercover cops. That seems a little extreme to me. Kill that poor man's future. [j]
But boy, now there's some serious crime he committed. Thank god the judge got him off the street. Is the war on drugs partially the reason that America is now the most incarcerated country in the world? Who and what are you killing with your war on drugs? And the illegal drug trade? We won't even mention how successful you have made Afghanistan’s illegal opium production. You haven't killed that. Yet. Score one for the past and future victims. [k]
And why not be fair and have a war against cigarette and alcohol manufacturers? That’s two new market sectors you haven’t started killing yet. But of course those products do a good job killing on their own – so no rush there.
Thinking of your recent election, we might as well remind ourselves of that killing as well. Now there's no faith on the part of millions of Americans in current federal elections. You killed that. And now you carp outrage at the Ukraine election? What a hypocrite. [l]
And don't forget our environment. You're killing that too. Logging. Oil Drilling. Global warming. I just read about the US refusing to join in the Kyoto Treaty. And how about the forced cover-ups of those scientific reports. But who needs the environment anyway? Apparently not you. I'm not sure where you'll live when you kill the environment, but that doesn’t seem to concern you. [m]
And what about fuel efficiency? You know, getting us off of oil dependency. Doesn’t seem to be any urgency there. Just keep buying SUV’s. We could be driving 99 MPG vehicles, like the VW Lupo. You can buy it in Europe. But not here. Or the MDI Air Car. And yes, it does run on AIR! But who cares? [n]
And while you're at it, don't forget to kill the justice system. Bend justice so that you can indefinitely imprison people, like at Gitmo. Who cares about justice? It's in the way, so you say, "kill it." [o]
How about foreign countries’ former benevolent feelings towards America? Nope. Not any more. You killed that one already. It didn't take long. Just go invade someone, and kill all of them too. "Wow" you say, "this is just too easy!"
And while you're at it Bush, don't forget to kill fair and responsible journalism. Now I'm honestly not sure if you killed that one, or if they just did themselves in. But either way, that's killed also. [p]
And shouldn't you also kill whistleblowers' initiative? Don't you just hate it Bush, when those pesky people tell something you didn't want anybody to know about? The environmental scientists. The CIA. Or people like Ms. Sibel Edmonds and what she knows about 9-11? Now I realize that you didn't kill her yet, but that hundred million dollar suit you had your buddy John Ashcroft bring against her - that sure shut her up, didn't it? And what is it that she knows, that you don’t want us to know? [q]
But wait - there's more. More killing. Much more.
We haven't even yet mentioned the War in Iraq. You know that you and your buddies stated many untruths to the US, the UN, and anybody else who was listening, to go have your war there. But you knew that, and besides, we already mentioned how you've killed truth. [r]
You know you planned on going to Iraq a long time ago, long before your first presidential term. So let's just mention some of the obvious before we move on. [s]
Iraq is a doozie for you. You're really getting a lot of people killed there. Maybe even a culture. But you must feel great about it because you know you're right. Add in the tens of thousands of Iraqis probably already killed there as well. That place is just a gold mine of death for you.
And you've already killed over a thousand American soldiers and civilians there, not to mention the thousands more that you've seriously wounded on top of that. But don't worry, I know you care about them too. [t]
Your new medical facility for military amputees near Walter Reed will put them back together, so that you can send them back to fight some more! This is great. You couldn't get them killed the first time, so you'll send them back for another round. [u]
And before we move off of the Iraq issue, let's remind ourselves of another victim - how you've killed competition in the industrial-military sector. Not fully, but I suspect you're working on that. Just one example are those excellent no-bid contracts awarded to Halliburton. Heck, why have competition? Kill that too. [v]
And American jobs? Losing those by the thousands. But didn't you tell me that outsourcing is good for me and for America? Kill jobs. [w]
And transparency? You talk of having it in government, but you record belies your inaccessibility. Kill transparency. Take a vacation instead.
And accountability? I mean, come on - the President of Chile had to give you a pass recently so that you could go there and not be charged as a war criminal while you were in his country. [x] Plus I just read that you did not address Canadian Parliament on your recent visit there. Too much threat of heckling and booing. Kill accountability.
I could go on and on and on. Just like you have. As I said at the beginning, you’re killing everything and everyone. So where does it all end? I suppose the good news for you is that there is still much left to kill.
Is that your legacy, President Bush? If we Americans continue to allow you and your administration to kill everything in sight, aren’t we in fact rewarding you?
So what do we readers and concerned Americans do? Well, we could do as Dr. Norman Livergood suggests, and join the United Activist Citizens’ Taskforce (UACT), a newly formed umbrella organization for spearheading the taking back of America. Is it a good idea? Could it be effective? Read the article for yourself, and you decide. [y]
As an alternative, we could just expatriate ourselves. I’ve read that American inquiries into moving to Canada, New Zealand, and Australia are way up… maybe a change of scenery will do me good!
